RecordPoint partners with Informotion as AI rollouts stall on ungoverned data

Sydney information governance specialist becomes a RecordPoint delivery partner across Australia and New Zealand

October 5, 2026

RecordPoint has signed Informotion as a delivery partner across Australia and New Zealand, pairing its data governance platform with one of the country's most established records and information management practices.

The two companies' services complement each other. Informotion designs the governance and delivers the implementation, covering discovery of what an organisation actually holds, retention and disposal schedules built to survive an audit, classification mapped to how a business really operates, and ongoing support once controls are live.

RecordPoint provides the technology layer: classification, retention, disposal, legal hold and privacy controls, enforced across the systems a client already runs.

Both companies work on a manage-in-place model, governing records and data where they already sit rather than migrating everything into a single repository.

The partnership is aimed at AI deployments that stall inside regulated organisations, where the obstacle usually turns out to be the underlying data rather than the technology.

"Informotion's services greatly complement RecordPoint's technology," said Christian Lucarelli, Chief Revenue Officer at RecordPoint. "That initial audit and streamlining process will help our customers and prospects get the most out of a RecordPoint integration, and in turn securely get the most out of any AI implementation."

"Every organisation we talk to wants to put AI in front of its people, and most find the hard part is the data they have been accumulating for twenty years," said Shane Parsons, CEO of Informotion. "Managing that data in place spares them a migration programme they cannot afford and do not want. Our job is the governance design that makes it defensible."

The announcement comes as the Federal Government works on a further round of changes to the Privacy Act, with measures under consideration including a right for people to have their personal information deleted on request. Ongoing departmental restructures and mergers across state and federal government are creating a further trigger for agencies to understand and control what they hold.

"Government agencies and businesses in Australia and New Zealand are being asked to prove what they hold, and to do it quickly," said Jesse Edwards, APAC Sales Director at RecordPoint. "Together we can bring the advice and the technology into the same project."

RecordPoint has expanded rapidly over the past year, particularly across the public sector, where more than 80 per cent of Victorian government departments now use its technology to manage and control information. The company recently appointed Christian Lucarelli as Chief Revenue Officer as it expands into technology channel sales.

The deal also caps an active year for Informotion. Last September the firm appointed Shane Parsons as chief executive, a move it framed as a shift from specialist records management consultancy toward Microsoft-focused transformation work, and doubled its investment in Microsoft capability. In May it acquired the InTouch product suite from InReach Software, a browser-based interface that sits over OpenText Content Manager, the records system in use across Australian and New Zealand government since the late 1980s. In July it was named in two ISG Microsoft Partner Ecosystem quadrants, appearing alongside global systems integrators including Accenture, Avanade, Capgemini and TCS.
