Sydney, Australia — October 29, 2025 —RecordPoint, the intelligent information governance platform, has appointed Brett Hooker as its first Chief Operating Officer (COO), as the company accelerates its global growth strategy and scales operations to meet rising demand from regulated enterprises worldwide.

Hooker, a seasoned enterprise technology executive, spent more than a decade in leadership roles at TechnologyOne, one of Australia’s largest publicly listed software companies. With a proven track record of scaling B2B SaaS operations globally, he brings deep operational, strategic, and commercial expertise to RecordPoint at a pivotal point in its growth trajectory.

Commenting on the appointment, Anthony Woodward, CEO and co-founder of RecordPoint, said: “Brett’s experience will be invaluable as we continue our growth both here in Australia and abroad. Brett’s work will be essential in keeping us on course and delivering for our customers.”

Incoming RecordPoint COO Brett Hooker added: “I’ve spent my career scaling enterprise software companies, and I see RecordPoint as uniquely positioned to lead the next wave of growth in information governance—particularly as it becomes a foundational step in harnessing the power of AI.”

“The company has built an exceptional product, an experienced leadership team, and a strong customer base. I’m excited to help scale the systems, teams, and culture needed to take it to the next level.”

The appointment comes amid significant momentum for RecordPoint. Today, more than 8 million pieces of data flow through its platform each day, surpassing the volume of daily transactions processed by NASDAQ. This milestone reflects the growing demand for robust data governance solutions as businesses grapple with increasingly complex regulatory landscapes and data risk exposure.

RecordPoint’s platform is trusted by some of the world’s most heavily regulated institutions. Its client base includes Australia’s largest banks—Westpac, NAB, and Macquarie—as well as critical regulatory bodies such as APRA and ASIC. Internationally, RecordPoint is also trusted by the City of New York, underscoring the company’s global credibility in high-stakes data environments.

As COO, Hooker will take ownership of RecordPoint’s end-to-end operational functions. His mandate includes optimising internal systems and processes, strengthening delivery capabilities, and aligning cross-functional teams to drive greater efficiency, accountability, and performance at scale. He will work closely with the company’s executive leadership across product, finance, technology, and marketing.

Hooker’s appointment follows a series of strategic initiatives that reflect RecordPoint’s broader global ambitions. The company recently acquired Redactive, a fast-growing Australian AI startup specialising in sensitive data discovery and classification. The acquisition significantly strengthens RecordPoint’s AI capabilities and positions the company to better support organisations seeking secure, ethical AI adoption.

RecordPoint has also launched new products to help businesses navigate the evolving risks of unregulated AI usage. RexCommand, a freemium shadow AI detection tool, was introduced to help enterprises identify unauthorised AI tools being used within their workforce. This move addresses an urgent need: recent research from Anagram shows that 78% of employees are already using AI tools at work—often without oversight or approval. Many of these tools store and train on user input, posing critical data privacy risks.

RexCommand forms part of RecordPoint’s growing AI Governance Suite, which is already being deployed across a range of sectors including banking, insurance, and government. This suite enables organisations to regain control over their data, establish clear governance frameworks, and mitigate the legal and ethical risks associated with AI proliferation.

Looking ahead, RecordPoint is actively expanding into Asia and Europe, building on its successful entry into the United States. The company’s growing footprint and commitment to AI innovation signal a new phase of maturity, with Hooker’s leadership set to drive operational excellence as RecordPoint enters this next chapter.
