RecordPoint Becomes Only SaaS Records Management Player to Complete Full IRAP Assessment
Sydney, Australia (3 February 2022) – RecordPoint announced today the completion of an independent Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment. RecordPoint’s products and services were assessed to the security classification of PROTECTED. RecordPoint is the only true SaaS player to formally complete a full third-party IRAP assessment for records management.
The relentless drive to use cloud services is key to the Australian Government’s ICT strategy. This has meant an exponential growth in the need for cloud-based data management in the Australian Public Sector and with this comes an increased risk profile. RecordPoint’s IRAP assessment allows Authorising Officers to determine whether or not RecordPoint’s products and services meet their agency’s security and compliance needs.
For Miles Ashcroft, RecordPoint’s Head of Risk, the IRAP assessment demonstrates our continued commitment to the number one priority at RecordPoint, protecting customers’ data. “Using an independent third-party assessor rather than going down the agency sponsored route, means we provide a higher level of assurance to all our customers on the security of the information that they are entrusting to Records365,” says Ashcroft.
By completing a formal, independent third-party IRAP assessment, RecordPoint saves public agencies and departments significant time and resources — rather than individually assessing each third-party contractor, any given government entity can simply ask for the IRAP assessment report. This IRAP assessment is recognised throughout the Australian Government, vastly improving efficiencies and significantly reducing the work of the agency’s security team when signing off on the purchase and use of cloud services like Records365.
“Our public sector customers globally all have unique security needs,” says Anthony Woodward, RecordPoint COO and Founder. “Achieving IRAP certification is the next step in assuring our government customer and beyond of our deep commitment to security best practices and continual assessments like Australian Signals Directorate’s IRAP program.”
RecordPoint continues to be committed to meeting or exceeding regulatory standards while providing comprehensive solutions for managing enterprise content across all industries, with a deep history of partnering with Australian Government agencies, including ASIC, APRA, DTA, TEQSA, ACQSC, AIATSIS, AHRC, ACIAR, BOM, and TSRA.
