RecordPoint is extremely proud to be extending our partnership with several Australian government agencies that maintain, support and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.
Over the past 12 months, we have had the opportunity to work with a range of organisations that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, including:
- The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS)
- The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA)
- Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC)
Together, these agencies deliver a range of services that assist Indigenous peoples, collect and revitalise items of cultural significance and work to strengthen the economic and social development of these communities.
AIATSIS, founded in 1964, is a leader in ethical research and maintains a collection of unique and irreplaceable items (records) or cultural, historical and spiritual significance. With a significant amount of information, collected across a range of systems, RecordPoint is working with AIATSIS to appraise and identify records of value and ensure they are maintained in accordance with the National Archives and Archives Act of 1983.
At the TSRA, the adoption of Microsoft 365 has highlighted the need for greater records management capabilities to ensure content across SharePoint, OneDrive and Microsoft Teams can be accurately managed. This is facilitated by Records365 and using machine learning to automatically appraise and classify the unstructured content that resides across the M365 suite.
ILSC started their Records365 journey in 2020 in alignment with the deployment of Microsoft 365 across the business. RecordPoint has worked with both ILSC and their Microsoft services partner to deliver an automated, compliant and business-specific information architecture and design that leverages the Microsoft Modern Workplace, which includes SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive for Business. This tailored solution has delivered significant improvements across the business and increased staff collaboration and productivity.
As AIATSIS, TSRA and ILSC regularly collaborate, inform policy and knowledge share, the benefits of having a consistent method of managing, classifying and transferring their records with Records365 has been significant and continues to enhance interdepartmental cooperation.
