Thanks to the pandemic, the rate of adoption for new data sources adopted has exploded. The average organization now has more than 900 discrete applications, an increase of 133 in the last 12 months. This data sprawl doesn’t just include unstructured data like documents, spreadsheets or emails, but the outputs of structured data sources such as Salesforce, Workday, or Zendesk.

As a result, most organizations lack a proper data inventory that encompasses all their applications. You don’t know where risk may be lurking among your organization’s dark data, the data you didn’t know you had. There is no source of data truth.

With Connectors, RecordPoint can connect to hundreds of essential business systems businesses relies on, allowing you to establish an exhaustive data inventory with the data trust platform. File Analysis will crawl your file shares, perform a repository analysis, and create a dynamic results dashboard. The analysis will identify Redundant, Obsolete and Trivial (ROT) files (learn more in our blog post here), Duplicates, as well as risk sensitive data such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI).
