RecordPoint had three excellent events in the past two weeks: ARMA Pacific Northwest, AIIM International, and Office 365 Saturday in Vancouver. We love these events because it gives us a chance to get to know people, talk together about the challenges we face in our industry, and how we can solve these problems together. Additionally, we had the opportunity to present three sessions to add value to these conversations.
ARMA Great Northwest: Breaking Bad Barriers – Elements for Success
This conference was focused on how to break through barriers and be successful. Along those lines we presented two sessions: one focused on Artificial Intelligence and how it applies to records managers, and one focused on how to think about information architecture given all the changes we’ve seen in content platforms the past two years.
This year RecordPoint was proud to be the Platinum sponsor for this event.
Anthony Woodward, RecordPoint’s CTO, presented the day two keynote.
The Machines Are Already Learning by Watching You File
Artificial intelligence is a phrase with a lot of questions behind it. It is difficult to cut through the hype to understand how it will impact your organization, so you can plan to utilize the benefits and overcome the challenges. In this session we will demystify artificial intelligence and how it will impact records management. We will discuss real life scenarios for artificial intelligence and provide practical advice for how records managers and information officers can prepare for this technology.
Paul Kelly, North American Pre-Sales and Delivery Lead at RecordPoint presented a break out session.
The Modern World of Information Architecture
SharePoint, Office 365, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox. There are so many content services that organizations are leveraging in today’s modern workplace. With more choice and flexibility than ever before, organizations are transforming the way they create and work with information. How does a Records Manager keep up? In this session, we- will explore the impact of content services, and how to evolve information architecture in an ever changing landscape to ensure you stay compliant and maintain control of your content.
Office 365 Saturday Vancouver
Wow, we had some great conversations about records management at this event! Common themes included:
- How to be compliant in a hybrid environment, or as we move to the cloud
- How to manage content across multiple sources, including SharePoint on-premises, SharePoint Online, and file shares
- Questions about Azure Information Protection and Office 365 Advanced Data Governance
Additionally, Erica Toelle presented High Value Scenarios for Microsoft Teams. This is great information for people just getting started with Teams, that are wondering what Team can do, or want to get more value out of their Teams deployment.
That’s it for this recap! We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
